The Support to the Renovation of Education Management (SREM) project started in April 2006, as a result of the financing agreement between the European Community and the Vietnamese government. The purpose of this project is to facilitate the achievement of Vietnam's Education Strategic Plan 2001 – 2010. The implementation of SREM was designed to meet two objectives:
- Improving the management of education systems in Vietnam at different levels:
- Ministry of Education and Training
- Department of Education and Training
- Bureau of Education and Training
- Schools
- Building a strong IT infrastructure for a renovated education management system
In January 2008, DTT won a project to develop and deliver EMIS (Education Management Information System), PMIS (Personnel Management Information System) and associated equipments for the Ministry of Education and Training and its sub-units across the country. The systems were developed using .NET and SOA. They were deployed in June 2008, and had helped strengthen the management of education systems in Vietnam significantly.
